The 2022 WNBA Draft will be held April 11. As of now, the Wings currently hold pick No. 7 in the first round and two picks in the third round. Come back each week as we spotlight two players that have been given first-round draft grades by various media outlets!
The Nuggets Academy Director Kieon Arkwright and the Coordinator Madison Montgomery present Chris Romero as the 2021 Nuggets Academy JR NBA Coach of the Year!
“Through our nomination process, we flagged multiple nominations for Chris Romero for the Nuggets Academy Coach of the year,” Nuggets Academy Youth Sports Coordinator Madison Montgomery explained. “After further discussions with his reference and talking to Chris himself, it is clear that he has a deep passion for basketball and youth development on and off the floor. He grew up in Denver, has been a long-time Denver sports fan and his fandom for the game has translated onto the court by positively impacting the lives of his athletes, especially in the last year.”
Denver Nuggets hope to connect to young fans with Nuggets Basketball Academy
In addition to the workouts provided in the Nuggets Academy, Arkwright, who has served as the trainer for Nuggets reserve guard Monte Morris and WNBA star Skylar Diggins, and Montgomery, who played overseas, will be providing individualized feedback for participants. Both pointed to their recent success with “Chalk Talk,” which was held during the 2020 playoffs. Arkwright and Montgomery both broke down plays from the Nuggets and related them to youth basketball.
